Contrib Opportunities
This page lists things that people need done, but which aren't large enough to make an entire project. If you see something you want to do, contact the person who posted it, and when it's done, remove it from this list.
Please include some degree of details in your listings.
- (armenzg) - I have a collection of minor l10n changes with low priority marked as "depends on" on this bug: Bug 464175 - (tracking bug) L10n minor changes in release engineering infrastructure
- (cathy) - I could always use more demos using C3DL (http://www.c3dl.org). 3D models would be great also
- (humph, ted) - Test gold linker with the Mozilla build. Use
export LD=gold
and time a build with and without using gold. (http://sourceware.org/binutils/)
- (humph, ctyler) - I need a way to automate the checkout/indexing for DXR such that it can stay up to date. To do this, I need someone to write a script to move source code and indexes from a dev machine to a production box and swap out old content for new.
- (ctyler) - tag wiki pages with Categories.
- (AaronMT) -
Testing is needed in two areas, full descriptions are here: Private Browsing
(new) Testing is needed with the new <video> and <audio> tags: go here http://tinyvid.tv with Firefox 3.1.* and try and test out the new player by playing some videos. Try and break it, do some crazy things. Report any oddities to me
- (Patrick Lam) -
A sample canvas 3d demo with multiple objects in it at different depths (or just random positions) from the camera (current view/scene)
- (still need) (Jason Tarka) - Details, screenshots, or HTML, of different web-based network authentication pages
- (still need) (Jason Tarka) - Keeping directory structures intact when exporting files during build (see this blog post for more details)
- (new) (Jason Tarka) - Test 0.3 release (see info and instructions in this blog post)
- (Irina Sh) - If you've worked with unit tests *documentation* in mozilla/bugzilla/eclipse/redhat projects please let me know, I have a couple questions.
- (Scott Lunel) - Need testers for the latest Thunderbird Ubiquity extension.
- (Chris Bishop) - Help with speeding up Firefox. Need to create scenarios to run Firefox through to create profile data to optimize Firefox. Looking for ideas, write-ups and eventually scripts. Click on my name to go to the project page.
- (Chris Bishop) - Need assistance with creating bash shell scripts.
-
(ashughes) - Install Songbird. Install Birdtorrent. Click the Tools menu item. Report the result.
- (Tjbro) - Wants some cool ideas for Ubiquity Thunderbird commands.
- (Evmarbella) - Need some help testing the colour reftest on different configurations of linux. Run the test and upload the result Colour-Reftest.
- (zghansar) - I am building an Extension and anyone who is building one knows how difficult it is :). So my contribution is the easiest, teach me something that you learned while developing an extension that you think will be useful to me. Post it here or get hold of me on IRC nick is "zghansar"
- (User:Chris Tyler) - We need a bot for {freenode, moznet}:#seneca similar to firebot/zodbot. It should know how to turn bugzilla numbers into the corresponding URLs (for Mozilla, Red Hat, OpenOffice.org, and Eclipse bugzillas), know how to convert wiki page names to URLs (OpenSource@Seneca wiki, maybe others), and be able to do useful things with user IDs (last seen, give the user's OpenSource@Wiki page). Ideally it should have a bunch of other userful features (e.g., leave a ping for a user who's not online now, ...)
- Seneca How-To Wiki Add tutorials on whatever you have worked on.
- (new) (ashughes) - I need a torrent server set up in CDOT and for it to be populated with a small set of test data. I need this to both test and demo Birdtorrent at various stages.
- (new)John Ford - I am using KVM vms through virt-manager. I would like to know how to make a port from the guest visible to the outside world. Ideally this would be in the form of a guide on the wiki but a chat on IRC would work for me as well. My nick is John64 and my learn id is jhford if email works better for you. --John64 03:54, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
