- Below are the instructions on how to use the computer lab's wireless keyboard:
Power-up Wireless Keyboard
- The wireless keyboard is battery-operated and is powered-off during non-use to save on batteries.
- During the computer lab startup sequence the wireless keyboard is powered-on by sliding the power button (located on the top right-hand-corner of the keyboard) to the right. If the wireless keyboard was powered-up correctly, a green light will indicate that the unit is working.

- WARNING: Sometimes confusion occurs when the user moves the touch-pad, bu there is no movement of the mouse pointer on the screen. It is recommended to first press a key (such as SHIFT), then move the touch-pad, and you will immediately notice movement. Use this same procedure in case of several minutes of keyboard inactivity...
Wireless Keyboard Layout
- The wireless keyboard looks and behaves like a normal QWERTY keyboard except for a few minor exceptions:
- There is no numeric keypad
- A touch-pad is located on the upper-right-hand corner of the keyboard.
- Two mouse buttons (resembling left and right click) are located to the left of the SPACE key.
- There is no "Windows Button".
Suggestions While Using Wireless Keyboard
- The wireless keyboard gives flexibility for the instructor while teaching the computer lab. The instructor can sit down, and operate the wireless keyboard on their lap. On the other hand, the instructor could be standing near the front of the data-display (large screen) area, and operate the wireless keyboard.
- Here are some additional "hints" while operating the wireless keyboard:
- quickly tapping the touch-pad with the user's thumb acts like a "double-click".
- User can perform dragging (easier) by using the left and right click keys (located to the left of the SPACE bar) in conjunction with the touch-pad.
Powering-Down Wireless Keyboard
- When power-down the computer lab, it is important to turn-off the wireless keyboard prior to leaving the computer lab.
- The wireless keyboard is battery-operated, and failing to turn-off this keyboard will needlessly drain the batteries which may cause problems for the next instructor.
