I chose this serial MD5 hash cracking application becausethere is a significant amount of research showing that massively parallel GPUshave the potential to significantly reduce the time required to crack password hashed...Some of the results are quite staggering, from 2 or 3days of required execution for a serial application to hours for an application that implements GPU parallelism.
