FUDCon Toronto 2009 OPS Bonus
The Fedora Users and Developers Conference (FUDCon Toronto 2009) is being held at Seneca@York on the first weekend in December. It's a great opportunity to meet, learn about, and join a dynamic open source community. To encourage you to attend FUDCon, the OPS235 and OPS335 professors are offering a bonus assignment.
OPS235
- Attend FUDCon Toronto 2009 (see the additional info on the Seneca wiki) (minimum: attend the technical sessions on Saturday).
- Prepare a 3-5 page typed report on Fedora and FUDCon, including:
- A description of the Fedora project. (for example: What is the history of the project? What are its foundation principles? Who is involved? How many people participate, and in what ways? How does a team dispersed around the world effectively collaborate? What are the products of the Fedora project, and who uses them?)
- Opportunities for involvement in the community. (Who can join the community? How? What roles or teams exist within Fedora? How could you personally participate?)
- What are the present and future initiatives of the Fedora project?
- The report must be well-written (proper grammar and spelling) and well-presented (i.e., print it out, place it in a report cover, and include a title page).
- Due date: December 10, 2009.
- This assignment is worth a bonus of up to 5% added to your final grade
