Project Started: Saturday August 7, 2010

Project Completed: Saturday October 2, 2010 @ 5:49 pm

Status: Finished

Description of Task:
Mainly sanding. Usually takes 2 to 2.5 hours for a first sanding 2 parts of a complete door system consisting of 6 panels with 50-grit sandpaper. Second sanding takes longer, especially to work on bottom of doors which have become weathered since varnish is old and peeled... A stir-stick with 50-grit sandpaper worked well to sand the grooves between the door panels...

Volunteer(s): Murray Saul

Skill Set (for future consideration): Have sheet sander, able to sand...

Notes:
Murray wanted to improve look of church entrance (which also included painting trim, and painting hand-rails). He asked and got permission from property facilitator to start work. So far he has averaged work on doors Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 11:15 am and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Murray started in summer due to good weather, but is returning from summer vacation to work in September. Volunteers no longer required! Project is finished!
