<span style="color:blue;font-weight:bold">msaul: </span> <span style="color:blue">This example of using a WIKI to provide you information you needed within a short period of time is what I envision for helping Westminster thrive in the future. Although it would take a lot of time for Westminster volunteers and members to adopt this "online" approach, this would be a "long-term" objective: To have people working together "online" to solve problems faster.<br /><br />Yes, it would take a long time for people to learn, but think of long-term advantages:<br />* <br /> - Less face-to-face meetings (although still important).* <br /> - Collaborating, but not necessarily at same time.* <br /> - Work on a problem over a week, but still problem solved faster than waiting 4-6 weeks for people's personal schedules to "align".* <br />- May speed up tasks since people "focused" during shorter periods of time<br /> - Problem solved among a group - thus "''many hands (via the Internet) make the load lighter''"<br /> - Work on problem during "quiet time" (mind more focused on individual's own time preference- best time to concentrate).* <br /> - Total transparency and people can see things develop in "real-time".* <br /> - Permanent record of solution.* <br /> - When people contribute, they all become "meeting minute takers" - more efficient...</span>
