Working in a Linux environment requires knowledge of the availability and use of both text and visual-based tools. This subject will introduce students introduces the student to the wealth of software products available for the Linux platform, with the emphasis on free softwareX Window System. Students will learn how to acquireplan, set up, installtroubleshoot, configure customize and use software including multimedia, communication, file management and document creationan X system. Students Particular attention will also be introduced paid to mark-up security and scripting languages used in conjunction network issues with emphasis on the software coveredKDE and GNOME desktop environments.
