This preference, however, is hardly religious: operating systems are ultimately just tools and what's really important is whether the solution works. Not to mention, it's always fun to check out some quirky, obscure operating system in search of interesting new ideas. As far as programming goes, my skills lie mostly with the [http://www.perl.org Perl] language, although I'm also pretty handy with a [http://www.gnu.org/software/bash/ bash] script and have recently been spending a lot of time working on learning [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scheme_(programming_language) Scheme] and [http://clisp.cons.org/ Common Lisp]. I first began programming with [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSX_BASIC MSX-BASIC] on an old [http://www.rgp.nl/cx5m/ Yamaha CX5M] with a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zilog_Z80 Z80] processor.
