I can't begin to calculate how much money I'm saving from using this applications. No doubt, I should start donating to these developers to acknowledge their great products!
At the same time, I realize that I have an advantage having used and taught Unix and Linux over many years. I have tried to convert people to using Linux and open-source applications over the years. I have had some success and many failures in this campaign. After many years, I consider it comes down to empowerment - either take the time to learn, or accept the limitations of someone doing most of it for you.
