The [http://www.mozilla.org/ Mozilla] project is a global community of people who believe that openness, innovation, and opportunity are key to the continued health of the Internet. Mozilla is best known for creating the Firefox web browser and the Thunderbird e-mail client. The [http://www.mozilla.org/about/manifesto Mozilla Manifesto] explains the goals of the project.
Students from Seneca students and students from as well as a number of other educational institutions worldwide are working alongside Seneca professor [[User:David.humphrey|David Humphrey]], Mozilla's educational liaison, on Mozilla projects. This work is centered in the [[OSD600]], [[DPS909]], [[OSD700]], [[DPS911]], and [[Real World Mozilla]] courses. David is also one of the key people behind [https://wiki.mozilla.org/Education/ education.mozilla.org] (edmo), Mozilla's global Open Source and Open Web education initiative.
The Mozilla Foundation has provided grant funding during the 2007-2008 through 2009-2010 academic years to support student participation in the Mozilla community.
