Based on my experience setting up LTSP computer labs, several consideration should be made prior to setting up the lab:

** This will allow you to determine the amount of RAM required for the server (rule: 128 Mb per thin client).
** For example, one server for every 15 thin clients.
** This will also allow you to determine the number of ports for a switch (generally, a switch is designed to operate more efficiently than a multi-port router).
* Check the power availability for the computer lab. Number of outlets. How clean is the electrical power. Will power outlets be required? WHich are the better power outlets?
