From the blog post:
I have read the EULA for Skype and as discussed in class, I found section 3 to be unfair to the end users.
Section 3 states:
”3.1 Skype may make changes to these Terms from time to time. Skype will publish the changes at www.skype.com/go/tou . Changes to the Additional Terms will be posted on the applicable Skype Website. The changes will be effective when published. Please review the Terms on a regular basis. You understand and agree that your express acceptance of the Terms or your use of the Software, Products and/or Skype Websites after the date of publication shall constitute your agreement to the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the amended Terms, you may terminate your relationship with Skype in accordance with paragraph 11 below.”
Skype is saying that the users are agreeing to agree on future EULA which will be updated on their site without the users being notified. This could be very bad for those who have agreed to the EULA if Skype decides to put something obsurd on their EULA like… user forfeits ownership of any device that have skype installed on.
Skype’s EULA is mostly Skype trying to cover itself on all possible worst case scenerios. Stating how they are the ones owning the phone number which could be taken away at any time from the user and also how if part of the EULA is illegal due to administrative body it doesnt render the agreement invalid but valid for the legal parts shows how eager they are to protect themselves.
I don’t think Skype is out there to take over the world, and their EULA is just trying to prevent themselves loosing money, but I do think they should respect their users a little more.

I have also read the EULA from MIT and it was as open as it can be. The EULA states that you can do anything with the software as long as you understand there are no warranties and the code writers are not liable for any possible damage caused.
