Considerations Prior to Installing

Computer labs using LTSP can range from extremely simple to complex:

  • Use a cross-over ethernet cable to connect one thin client to the server.
  • Use a switch to connect a number of thin clients to server via ethernet cables.

The computer lab can vary from "basics" where thin clients are placed on cheap used tables, or "impressive looking" computer labs where a great deal of time and effort are made to design and build desks, etc...

The Procedure for installing the Alternate (LTSP) version of Edubuntu is different that the desktop version.
