Eclipse is an open source community, whose projects are focused on building an open development platform comprised of extensible frameworks, tools and runtimes for building, deploying and managing software across the lifecycle. Eclipse software is written in Java and can be executed on a wide variety of systems.
Seneca students are working alongside Seneca professor Jordan Anastasiade within the Eclipse community on Eclipse WPT (Web Platform Tools). This work is centered in the OSD600 and DPS909 courses.
IBM is one of the key sponsors of Eclipse and is providing grant funding during the 2008-2009 academic year to support student participation in the Eclipse community.
