Part 1: Creating A Windows VM From An Image

To create your Windows Server 2016 Virtual machine, perform the following steps:
# Login Navigate to the [https://portal.azure.com Microsoft Azure Portal].# Click on the menu bar icon, and select ''All Services''. (Refer to Figure 1.)# In the ''Search All'' text box, type '''Virtual Machines'DevTest Labs > OPS705-2207-NAA > My virtual machines''.# Click on the '''Virtual machines''' result.# Once inside the Virtual Machines page, click the '''+ Add v''' button.# Select ''Virtual machine'' from the drop-down menu.# In Wait for the new ''Create Choose a new virtual machinebase'' page, make sure you're in the '''Basics''' tablisting to populate.# In the ''Subscription'' drop-down menu, select '''OPS705.2207'''This may take a few moments.# In the ''Resource group'' drop-down menusearch field, select '''OPS705.2207.NAA'''. Do not create a new group!# Under ''Virtual machine name'', use yourSenecaUsername-winserv. For exampletype: cjohnson30-winserv# Leave ''Region'' and Windows Server 2016 Datacenter''Availability options'' at their defaults.# In Select the ''Image'' drop-down menu, choose item titled '''Windows Server 2016 Datacenter''# ''Azure Spot instance'': '''No'exactly''. Be careful here! There are many other options.# Under ''Size'': '''Standard_DS1_v2 - 1 vcpusA new blade, 3.5 GiB memory'''# In the ''UsernameCreate lab resource'' field, use your Seneca usernameappears.# In the ''PasswordVirtual machine name'' field, choose a good passwordtype: yourSenecaUsername (you only have 15 characters, then confirm it in the next field. '''Do not use your Seneca e-mail password!'''you may need to abbreviate)# For ''Public inbound portsUsername:'', select '''Allow selected portsyourSenecaUsername'''.# In the ''Select inbound ports'' drop-down menu, make sure the Use a saved secret:'''RDP (3389)''' item is selected.Unchecked# Under ''Already have a Windows Server license?Password'': Your choice, select '''No'''.# At but use the top of the page, select the ''Tags'' tabsame for all VMs and resources in this course.# In the ''Name'' field, insert ''SenecaIDSave as default password:''Checked.# In Leave the ''Value'' field, insert your Seneca usernameremaining options as they are.# Click on the ''Review + create'' tab.# Review your settings against the directions in this section.# When ready, click the '''Create''' button at the bottom left of the screen.# You are now back in the ''My virtual machines'Overview''' screen blade while Azure creates your personal virtual machine. This may take a few minutes.
# When it finishes, you should see a '''Your deployment is complete.''' message near the top of the page. Congratulations!
